Bacon Playing Cards: The Perfect Stocking Stuffer For Your Bacon Loving Man

Here's a fun stocking stuffer for the man or teenager in your life.  Please forgive me, I know women love bacon, too but somehow these cards seem like the perfect gift for a man. They'd also be great as a small novelty or gag type gift at an office exchange. Heck you could even make a bacon themed gift set packed with a pound of bacon.

There's even a choice -- the first fully cooked bacon playing cards, the bacon recipe playing cards or the more traditional Bicycle brand cars. Bicycle is most recognized card company out there.

I'm sharing them today because they retail for around just $10, because they made me smile and because they are a great idea for an inexpensive stocking stuffer.  Your bacon loving friends will be able to smell the bacon frying when they are playing with these cards.

Happy Shopping!

Peanuts Christmas Coffee Mug

Peanuts Christmas Coffee Mug
Charlie Brown and Snoopy enjoy continued popularity and actually rank fourth on T.V. Guide's list of the 60 greatest cartoons of all time.  This popularity ensures them a placement on many popular household items as well as collectibles like these handsome Christmas coffee mugs.

I love the image of Snoopy and his Christmas tree both before and after the winter snow has arrived.

The first mug reads, "There's no sense in barking if you don't really have anything to say."

The second mug reads, "It's nice to wake up in the morning with a feeling of well being."

This mug would be especially fun to use in December but of course true Peanuts would use it all year long.

It is a great gift idea for a Snoopy fan, even if that fan is you! We love giving and receiving coffee mugs because they are not only affordable but practical, too.

To order your Snoopy coffee mug, visit Amazon by clicking right here.   Unfortunately, this mug is out of production but you can try looking for it on eBay by clicking right here

Merry Christmas!

Martha Stewart's Baking Basics Video

Martha Stewart's Baking Basics Video
Martha Stewart's Countdown to Christmas is a series of short cooking and crafting videos that I just discovered.

On this page, I am sharing a basic video called, Christmas Baking Basics in which Martha shares some basic information about baking ingredients. What to choose, how to store it, and so on.

One secret that Martha Stewart shares that I use is to buy unsalted butter and to freeze it because it lasts longer that way. I particularly like doing this because I can stock up when butter is on sale.

Another thing to think about that she mentions is that spices do not last forever and she's right. I recently pulled out some pumpkin pie spice that I made a year or two ago and decided that it just wasn't as strong as it should be.  Spices do lose their strength.

Here is the video for you to enjoy. I think that it is a good refresher for experienced bakers and also an introduction for those new to baking:

Martha's videos are so beautiful, don't you think?

Bah, Humbug! A Romantic Comedy Novella eBook

In the hustle and bustle of the season leading up to Christmas I always enjoy reading a Christmas novel. This year, I happened to download Bah, Humbug! by Heather Horrocks.

Bah, Humbug! is a romantic comedy novella. A novella, by the way, is a work of fiction that is shorter than a novel but longer than a novelette.

Think Martha Stewart and you`ll have the leading lady in this book who is a young woman with her own lifestyle television show.   Add a very successful and of course handsome children`s author to the mix and you have the cast of the book Bah, Humbug!

One Amazon customer calls this book, "the cutest Christmas story ever." I agree.

When I downloaded it, it was FREE but I see that the price has gone up by a whopping dollar.  If you are looking for something festive and Christmas-y, Bah, Humbug! is definitely worth the price of admission.

Please note that Bah, Humbug! is only available in eBook form.

Merry Christmas
to you!

A Charlie Brown Christmas Happy Holidays Coffee Mug

A Charlie Brown Christmas Happy Holidays Coffee Mug
A Charlie Brown Christmas was the first animated television special based on the Peanuts comic strip by Charles M. Shulz.

The program first aired in 1965 and while I likely did not watch it in 1965, I did watch it almost every year whilst I was growing up.

Nothing, therefore, says Christmas to me more than Charlie Brown and I was impressed when I discovered this handsome Peanuts themed Christmas coffee mug that features Snoopy and Charlie Brown wishing you a Happy Holiday.

Happy Holidays!

M&M's Christmas Candies

M&M's Christmas Candies

Last year I had some difficulty locating the red and green Christmas colored M&Ms for my Christmas themed M&M cookies so this year I picked them up early when I saw them. However, this year making the cookies is proving even more difficult, if you can believe that.

Our kitchen is under renovation. At this very moment the contractor is removing my kitchen floor, all four layers of it.  That means we don't have a stove -- at least one plugged into electricity -- and we won't have one until next Thursday when the new floor will be installed.  After that, it will still be a while before the kitchen is put back together. We'll be waiting on a new countertop, plumbing, etc. but at least I might possibly still be able to put together a batch of these cookies in time for the return of my grown sons for Christmas.

Anyway, if you're having any trouble finding Christmas colored M&Ms, I've found them right here on Amazon.

Love Christmas M&M Cookies But Can't Find Them (2011)

Love Christmas M&M Cookies But Hard Finding Christmas M&Ms 201
One of my family's favorite Christmas cookies is the M&M cookie made with Christmas colored M&Ms.

Would you believe I'm having a hard time finding them this year?  I passed on them once at a local retailer when I saw that they were more expensive than the regular M&Ms in part because I have always been able to find them on sale before Christmas but that was a mistake, and now I am Christmas M&M-less.

My family of cookie loving men is sure to be disappointed. Heck, I'm disappointed.

I live in Canada and cannot order them from Amazon so if you live in the U.S., consider yourself lucky, order your Christmas colored M&Ms now from Amazon by clicking right here.

See you
in the kitchen!
